What a great couple of days.

The zoo went pretty well. We had a few mini meltdowns but nothing memorable like in the previous post. After lunch it was pretty obvious Molly was tired because she was far more interested in climbing things so we played in the playground for a bit. It was cute she was sitting in the little house and kids just kept taking turns sitting next to her. Yesterday we didn't let her know we were going to Bay Beach just drove there. She was absolutely perfect there! It was almost a little freaky. She loved the Scrambler and Ferris Wheel which really surprised me. It was just a fantastic couple of days.

Taking a little break.

Summer is hard for a shop owner sometimes. While everyone is out enjoying the beautiful weather I am always working. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love what I do but I also long for holidays of any sort so I can have more than one day off a week. We didn't really do many fun things with Molly this summer because of working so much so we decided to take next Monday and Tuesday off to spend doing fun kid things. We will be heading to Green Bay to Bay Beach (a totally cheesy fun amusement park) and the New Zoo. I haven't decided if we are staying overnight in Green Bay yet but that is a possibility. With Sputnikfest coming so fast it isn't the best timing but oh well.

So don't go to Persimmons those days because I won't be there.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you all but I dyed my hair red, well actually strawberry blonde. Ignore the morningness of this picture. I freaked out at first but the color has calmed down a bit and now I am used to it.

I've been published!

Watch for the new Somerset Holidays and Celebrations coming September 1st.....
...and turn to page 31 for my full page Joy ornaments!!! The pictures are almost life sized! It got me inspired to make more so on Friday and Saturday I made 12 more to list in my etsy shop and put in the store. I really liked this little witch one using lots of butterflies. They are fun to make and I am still finding glitter between my toes! Molly even joined in the fun and made one of her own!

The Loves of my life.

I am one of those really lucky girls who found the love of my life pretty early on. Glenn and I met in 1991 and started really dating in 1992. He was in college 4 hours away for the first 4 years of our relationship. I think spending all that time on the phone (the bills... the bills) really allowed us to get to know each other way better than being with each other and just making out all the time.

He asked me to marry him one day an hour before I had to work. He was so excited to ask me that he just couldn't wait until a more convenient time. When he picked me up he wanted to go to a nice lunch place and I kind of yelled at him and said Glenn I have to work why would we go anywhere to sit down. Well we went to McDonald's and he asked me in the parking lot on the way in. I don't think we even ended up eating. I knew I was going to marry him but he totally shocked me as a poor college student buying me a beautiful diamond. He cashed in a couple of savings bonds he had to buy it for me. Man I love him.

Well we were engaged for about 2.5 years and got married on August 16, 1997. I am grateful every single day (even though I don't always act like it) that I found someone who I love so much it makes me crazy (not to mention he is a major hottie). Also check out that beautiful little girl we made together. I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Happy Anniversary Glenn...I love you always and forever.

Friday August 15th...be here or be square!

Because my good friend Tina (or go here for her professional blog) is having her virginal solo show of her totally fantastic illustration art and the unveiling of her fab Sputnikfest poster (featuring that hot little number above). She had a limited number of them printed and will be signing them just for you. She is so super talented and I am honored to show her work at Persimmons. So come on Friday...we will be here 6-9 selling posters and Tina's other great stuff!

Hi.

I was thinking this morning how neglectful I have been of my poor little blog and how I need to really get back into regular posting but then I started to think about things I blog about and I haven't been doing much of those things either. With Sputnikfest right around the corner...how did that happen...I haven't really made many things or had a whole lot of time to do some good treasure hunting. Sure I have made some little things here and there but it has been a good long while since I have sat down in my studio and had a few hardcore days of letting my creativity go. I miss it and look forward to the fall when I can do it again.

Makes me feel a little like this woman looks. I would list this picture in my etsy shop cheapoldcrap but I don't have time...too busy!
