Lake Michigan Stone Pendants.

I am having so much fun today. My necklace I made it the previous post lead me to look at soldering a little differently and I am playing with wire and stones from my Lake Michigan beach excursions. In case you don't live around here I am located just 2 blocks from this beautiful (and far too taken for granted) lake. I love walking on the beach looking for cool stones and beach glass and finally figured out a way to wear them. I used to find flat stones and have my husband drill them for me but that is not an easy task so we gave up. These on the other hand are very fun to make and relatively simple. I know the look is rather artsy and maybe not for everyone but I love them. Now I have to go to the beach. Bring on the warm weather!!!!
Oh yeah I will be testing these babies out at the store...selling for $25 with a chain.

These are gorgeous!!! They'd make lovely bracelets too. Think that's a possibility?

Anything is possible Kate! I may just work on those next week. I would tomorrow but I am taking the day OFF!

Good for you! You deserve a day off! Let me know how they work out as bracelets. If it's do-able, I definitely want one for me and a few for my shop. Keep me posted, please!

Wow! They're really beautiful. They look like tiny abstract paintings captured and bound. What a wonderfully creative idea.

These on the fish vertebrae bone bead necklaces we talked about would also be cool...I think I have some jars of old fish bones like that lying around from when I used to make those things...if I can find them you can have them.

Make a leather belt with the stones wired like that and attached to the belt...they'd have to be relly flat stones though.

Another good use for those beach stones, I've found, is to throw them at people you don't like.

They look natural as the edges are uneven and they look fresh taken from the ground. They create yet another rustic look.
