Metal stamping for all.

Metal stamping is so much fun and really quite easy. The fun thing is that with a little creativity you can begin stamping with very little money. Places like etsy and even your local hardware store can get you started in this very personalized fun craft. If you go to specialty stamping stores like Rings and Things , you can even get picture stamps like hearts, stars and so much more. Super simple is starting with copper washers, a metal letter stamp set, a ball peen hammer, and steel block. Simply line up your letters and strike with your hammer. Publishing Happiness.

It's been a good year for me on the publishing front. I am always giddy when I receive my comp issues of magazines my work appears in and these two fine issues were no exception. In the new Belle Armoire you can read a little Q&A about my packaging and how important I believe how you present your work is. In the July CPS you can see my art bag in the muse flash section and as an added bonus my fabulous art friend Sue is the cover girl! Go Sue go Sue. ...and turn to page 31 for my full page Joy ornaments!!! The pictures are almost life sized! It got me inspired to make more so on Friday and Saturday I made 12 more to list in my etsy shop and put in the store. I really liked this little witch one using lots of butterflies. They are fun to make and I am still finding glitter between my toes! Molly even joined in the fun and made one of her own!

Recycle.

So Wednesday is ARD...America Recycles Day.

I am going to have fun recycled art demonstrations all day long. You can even make and take home your own recycled art charm bracelet for only $15. It really got me thinking about little things I could do to make a few green moves. I am a magazine freak. I love them and get many. I sell a lot of small items and just thought how can I use these magazines and came up with these small bags. Yeah it'll take me some time to make them but it will pretty much be free and I will feel good about it too. I have also recently gotten canvas bags for shopping...now if I could remember to bring them to the store! We can really all make small changes that will make a difference.
