ABCDEFG....

Look at these fantastic little alphabet cards I found today at The Salvation Army. It was a very good book day I got about 6 great ones. I am addicted to old text books and readers among about 75,000 other things. I look at my shelves and shelves and shelves of stuff and think I really can't buy anything else but every day I do. Oh well. At least my shopping addiction consists of $1 items and not $300 purses!

I got my ATC's from an etsy swap I participated in the other day. It was so much fun opening the package and looking at all the different cards. There were 10 in all. I took a couple of pictures and they didn't turn out the best but it gives you some idea.....
I love getting good real mail.
Just found out my friends David and Kim have a blog for their coffee shop Stumpjack. Check it out! I have raved about the yummy sandwich in an earlier post but I will do it again! I believe my exact description of the veggie panini was yum yum yummy. If you are around Two Rivers you really must stop in for a coffee and a bite!
Ok off to work now all this beautiful weather is inspiring me to make some stuff!

No work all play.

It was the first very summery day here in our part of Wisconsin.

We went to my in-laws in the country and spent a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine and warm breeze. My mother in -law is an incredible cook so it is always a great treat to eat there! I am lucky, I really married into a very loving and wonderful family. Right up the road there is a farm with a lot of geese and other birds and we saw black swans. I didn't know there was such a creature but they were beautiful. We just had a not much going on all day day and it was nice. Kind of like kissing angels. They live in the store.

This is how I feel today.

Rahrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I didn't find these guys today but I found the picture on my camera does that count? It is an absolutely beautiful day outside so I am not anticipating too much action here at the store which is good because I am so super grouchy today! Just one of those days. Oh well I have to try and get my little sas to go take a nap now so have a fantastic day.

Is it a sign?

So this morning when I was getting out of my car I was surprised by a loud pop. I tried to close my door and couldn't. I kept trying to close it but nothing so I thought I'd play mechanic Kim and look to see if I could fix it. Well a huge spring fell out that was attached to another metal thing that was jamming the door, so I just pushed the still attached piece out of the way and went to St Vinnie's. So I ask, do you think it's a sign?... so many things in just one week going wrong. Maybe this weekend will be a car shopping weekend? I hate to think of a car payment, we haven't had one for years!

So something great I found ..... a whole lotta lounging cupie dolls. They are just hanging out on a shelf in the store.

For The Love Of ATC's.

So I found this incredible children's book thrifting at St Vinnie's. I love love love old readers and Dick and Jane type books. This one is great because it is almost all pictures and has animals, flowers, seasons, machines, just everything. I will probably just hoard this one for a little while before I decide to sell it or use it for the artwork as parts of an ATC or collage I create. I love to trade ATC's by the way, so if anyone is interested leave me a comment!
I'm expecting my cards from an etsy 10/10 swap hosted by electrikolor and I can't wait to get them! It is so fun to see what other people come up with on these little 2.5 * 3.5 cards. I enjoy making them because with my artistic ADHD I can't work on things too long before getting bored so the few minutes it takes to whip one out is perfect! I think I will go make a few right now!

Look What I Found!

Ok I got my mom's camera today so I am hoping to start my "Look What I Found Today", today.

I will try to post something I find on my walk, or thrifting or something I made or bought or something an artist brought to the store most every day. Just something that made me happy. Today's thing is a scary little Santa guy I got at Goodwill yesterday. I love him and will keep him forever and ever! I went way over budget for this little guy spending $14.99 for him but come on will I ever find another?

Fantastic Finds Day

So my car didn't start today again but fortunately my sister came over to go shopping so we took her car. I think I need a new battery. Oh well. We had a fantastic shopping day, as you see in the title. We drove to the thrifts in Sheboygan and found sooooo much good stuff. We hit St Vinnies, Salvation Army, Bethesda, Goodwill and the bead store. Not too bad for only being gone for about 7 hours. We ate lunch at a delish Mexican restaurant El Camino. It was a very authentic and inexpensive meal. I don't even know what I had because I just told the waitress to bring what she wants and she did good. Oh and went to Target too. I do love Target.

So you wanna know what I got? Good because I want to tell you! I got a bag of vintage fabric rag balls (I started crocheting a rag rug already), a ton of great old old books, fab vintage fabric yardage, a scary little vintage santa stuffed toy, a dressform for displays, a few great dishes, some sparkly vintage jewelry, oh and I could keep going. I love these great days. This will be the last whole day shopping trip for a little while because the store will be open on Tuesdays now. It's ok though...I'll save money that way.

Gotta go and watch American Idol..yeah I like it.

Crazy Crazy Morning!

I woke up at 5:30 without an alarm today. It was raining so I sat and watched the news to see if it was going to let up some so I could walk, it did, so I walked. So I got home did my morning stuff and got my girl all ready to go. Got to the car and tried to open the door with the power locks and nothing. I knew it wasn't going to be good but tried to start it anyway...nothing. So we walked to daycare about 1.5 miles away which was no big deal until I got about 4 blocks from the shop on the way back and it started to downpour. Luckily I was near my friends shop Grape Grain and Bean , which worked out OK because I've been meaning to get there to get some tea brewing supplies anyways. I spent a little time, and money there and when the rain was light enough to go back out I quickly went on my way. So by 11:30 I had 6 miles of walking in already, really flat hair, and wet sneaks... but I feel really good. I'm thinking the walking to daycare may become a daily thing? It certainly would be more green of me.

I still don't have a camera but here is a nice necklace I made a little bit ago that is still here. Great Peruvian opals, turquoise, pearls and a huge silver pendant. I love it!

A few of my little hand painted note cards. Pics are a bit fuzzy but you get the point. They are silly.

Oh man it is a great day. The birdies are "fighting" a lot outside my door so you know spring is in the air! I have a few open daffodils in the garden, the sky is bright bright blue, and I am bare foot! Could life get any better? Maybe but I doubt it. Enjoy and Happy Earth Day! I'll be pretty busy with the Earth Day Celebration so I won't be posting this weekend! I actually should be preparing right now but being the eternal procrastinator that I am, I am finding all sorts of other things to do! So again have a great weekend!

Oh It Is A Beautiful Day

So the warm weather has finally made an appearance again here in Manitowoc and it could not be better timing! The Earth Day Celebration will be much more pleasant with sunshine.

I took a walk ,as I have been trying to do daily, at 5:45 this morning. I love walking in the morning when the world is mostly quiet and I am alone with my doggie. We walk along the river and there are so many different birds and other critters. This morning we saw a sandhill crane. The sun is usually rising right in time for our arrival at the lake. It was freakishly calm this morning. The trail along the lake was just covered with worms. Silly little worms don't you know it is going to get sunny soon? I thought of saving them but I would never have gotten home! I did however pick up lots of garbage. Why is it so hard to keep your trash in your car until you get home. Just don't get that?!?!?!?

I had an idea while walking. I don't have a camera right now that is compatible with the new computer but I find so much cool stuff that once I do get the camera I will be posting a "Look what I found today" everyday. It will be a great pile of sea glass, a great thrifting find, something I made or anything else that makes me happy. Watch for it. Until then I will just show you things I have on the disk I just got off the computer like this.........
A little poppy painting I made.
Have a happy day!
